(Ages 4 – 8)

This Halloween version of the classic folk-story, Stone Soup, is so much fun to read aloud! When a hungry trio of witches find their cupboards empty, they collect ingredients from their neighbors to make an eerily delicious soup for everyone. My kids absolutely loved the refrain of “bone soup, soup from a bone” and begged to listen to this story over and over. It even inspired them to create their own “bone soup” using acorns and leaves.

The Itty-Bitty Witch by Trisha Speed Shaskan; illustrated by Xindi Yan

(Ages 4 – 8)
